About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Conveyor Belt Engineer to support the design, installation, maintenance, and optimization of conveyor systems across our industrial and mining customers. This role includes specialized responsibilities supporting copper and other mining activities, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of material throughout extraction and processing areas.

Key Responsibilities;

Conveyor System Engineering & Design

• Inspect conveyor layouts, specifications, and component selections.
• Perform load calculations, system assessments, and belt speed analysis.
• Produce technical documentation.

Installation & Commissioning

• Support system installation and ensure adherence to safety requirements.
• Conduct functional testing, inspections and commissioning of conveyor systems.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support preventive maintenance planning and optimization.

Safety & Compliance

• Conduct risk assessments and implement safety improvements.
• Maintain compliance with company guidelines and industry standards.

Mining Operations Support (as applicable)

Mining Conveyor Support

• Assist with conveyor systems handling material in underground or open‑pit mining environments.
• Ensure systems meet production flow, ore-handling, and environmental conditions.
• Collaborate with mining teams during expansions or conveyor rerouting.

Mining Safety & MSHA Compliance

• Support compliance with MSHA and site-specific safety protocols.
• Participate in mining hazard assessments (dust, ore movement, heavy equipment zones).
• Recommend safety improvements to reduce downtime and risk.

Performance Monitoring

• Monitor conveyor wear from abrasive ore and recommend proper materials and components.
• Troubleshoot spillage, misalignment, and high‑impact issues.
• Coordinate with maintenance to minimize operational disruptions.

Team Collaboration

• Work with mining supervisors, geologists, and processing staff.
• Provide engineering insights during operational planning and ore-body development.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field

Experience with material handling systems, motors, gearboxes, and automation
Proficiency with conveyor calculation tools (e.g., Belt Analyst)
Strong CAD understanding (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities
Mining experience is a plus, but not required
